[font=font81931]PEKIN - [/font]Nancy E. Porter, 76, of Pekin, Illinois passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL. She was born January 27,1949 in Linton, Indiana to Gledis Jr. and Betty Kendall Neidigh. Her parents and aunt, Carolyn (Cleo) Jones preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, Christopher (Melissa) Porter of Montogomery Village, Maryland, Clayton Porter of Fowlerville, Michigan and Cassandra (Russell) Richardson of Pekin, Illinois. She is survived by her grandchildren, Grant, Harrison, Logan, Owen, Grace, Noah, Audrey, Hera and Lucas; brother Douglas (Margaret) Neidigh and daughter in law Sara Porter. Nancy graduated from Elnora High School in 1967. She attended Vincennes University then Indiana State University. She worked as a second grade teacher then later a preschool teacher/administrator. Later in life she went to Ivy Tech and later Lincoln Trail College to become a registered nurse. Nancy loved her family, grandchildren and friends. She enjoyed gardening, tending to flowers, reading and crocheting. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 2 pm- 5 pm at Lester Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home, 421 S. Seminary Street, Bloomfield, Indiana. Private inurnment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, Illinois in her name.
