William Edwin 'Ed' Chestnut 79, passed away during the early morning hours Sunday, May 11, 2025, at his home. He was born in Washington November 8, 1945, to Wilbur and Dorothy (McCord) Chestnut. On October 27, 1989, he married Nancy Boger, and she survives. A 1963 graduate of Washington High School, Ed retired from Hoover Precision. He enjoyed going to yard sales, being around horses and was a member of the First Baptist Church. Those who now mourn Ed's passing include his wife, Nancy; son, Scott Chestnut of Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Cody Grannan of Arizona and Samantha Chestnut of Pennsylvania; step-grandson, John (Tessa) Horton of Mitchell; step-great-granddaughter, Olivia Horton of Mitchell; three sisters, Barbara Keith and Sharon Allen both of Washington and Brenda Walls of Newburgh. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Dorothy Chestnut; a step-son, Marty Horton and brother, Don Chestnut. Visitation for Ed will be noon-2 p.m., Sunday May 18, at Ed L.
