I just enjoyed a 'Garden Smart' TV epiosode on small gardens from Colonial Williamsburg, which featured the historical re-enactment of Mark Catesby in character & costume. Very respectfully enacted. I was wondering if any images of Mark Catesby have survived at all? He was from Essex and so am I, although I grew up in Canada, & so am suffering through a long winter at the moment. Fascinating to read Gertrude Jekyll was a Catesby descendant. Marvellous article, & images. Thank you.
