MizzimaThe Kachin Independence Organization/Army (KIO/KIA) headquarters in Laiza town came under two suicide drone attacks on 21 September, according to Major Naw Bu, the KIA’s information and communication officer. The first strike occurred around 3:30 pm outside Laiza, followed by another at about 11:30 pm near the group’s former headquarters. “When there was heavy rain in the evening, we heard the sound of an explosion from a suicide drone outside the town. Another explosion was heard near the old headquarters at night. Laiza, the KIA’s headquarters, lies about 40 miles from Bhamo, where heavy clashes are ongoing.
