Lloyd Kruschenske, loving husband of Beryl (Maguire) for 61 years, passed away on March 20, 2023. Father of Sheila Carere and Sharron (Jason Burke). Grandfather of Andrea Carere and Spencer Carere. Uncle to George Allan, Linda Stewart (Michael Lue-Kim), and predeceased in February 2021 by niece Ruth Ann (Don Stephenson). Also, great uncle to many nephews and a niece. Lloyd was born in Pembroke, Ontario, and moved to Waterloo, Ontario, to attend Waterloo Lutheran University, and later Teachers College in Stratford, Ontario. His teaching career of over 30 years began, and remained, in Guelph. Sports were an important part of Lloyd's life, playing many himself. He also taught physical education in his early years of teaching. He was a Blue Jays fan, and in later years, also a Raptors fan. Later, Lloyd began teaching Industrial Arts. His love of woodworking continued well into retirement as he set up a shop in his basement. There, he built many things for family and friends. Lloyd often said - "If you love the work you are doing as a part of your career, you never work a day in your life." Friends will be received at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 10 a.m. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Reception to follow in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre.
