November 6, 1943 - March 19, 2023Corey was born to Violet and Vaughan Hiltz in the Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia. He had four older siblings whom he loved very much, Hollis, Doris Tye, Ella Dalton and Ruby Wright. He is predeceased by Hollis and Ruby. Here's the thing about Corey, he was very laid back and led a down East, easy going way of life. He moved to Ontario in the mid sixties and made Guelph his home. Corey worked in the construction industry for companies such as Dempsey, Capital Paving and Drexler. His nickname was 'Cement Corey' because he was so good at his craft. Many may admire his handiwork when strolling past the fountain in downtown Guelph. In 1969 he married Virginia and had two daughters, Tracy and Andrea. Later in life Corey married Donna and became a father to Melissa and shortly after, Lana, his youngest daughter was born. Corey loved fishing, hunting, gardening and carpentry. His daughters have many items he made for them from picture frames, book shelves, keepsake chests and chairs. He was a great story teller and had many jokes to share. Corey was well known around town, and could be recognized by his signature hat. Corey was well loved by his many nieces and nephews and liked to keep in touch with them over the phone or when visiting down East.Corey will be missed dearly by his daughters, Tracy (Dave), Andrea (Michael), Lana (Scott) and Melissa and by his grandchildren Curtis, Ainsley, Tripp, Melikah, Melaniah and Georgia.Drop in Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 8th from 1:00- 4:00 at the Army Navy Club - ANAF Club #344, 32 Gordon Street Guelph, Ontario.Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL (519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com).A tree will be planted in memory of Corey V.
