John Howard Nodwell passed away peacefully at Lapointe Fisher Nursing Home in his 95th year on April 15, 2023. Beloved husband of Aileen Nodwell (Hillis) for almost 69 years, outstanding Father to Rick Nodwell and Deb Thomas, incredible Father-in-Law to Deanna Nodwell and Rob Thomas, Loving Papa and Grandfather to Lindsay Nodwell Rutledge, Meighan Thomas, and Kelsey Thomas, remembered fondly by Matthew Rutledge and Andrew Schneider, and adored Great Grandfather to Landon Rutledge and Addison Schneider. Dad was a very proud man, devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather who loved his family! He had such a positive spirit and gave willingly to others as well as being a true gentleman, a professional and highly intelligent. Dad graduated from OAC in 1951 and worked his entire career with the Ministry of Agriculture. He had a passion for curling, golf, fishing and playing bridge with Mom and friends. His love of sports was legendary. Most of all we cherish our family memories, Colpoys Bay, and Canning Lake. We remember their many friends, past and present, and treasure this gentle man who listened carefully, never spoke out of turn, and made you proud to be related to him.
