With a heavy heart we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather Gary on July 6, 2023 at 81 years of age. Predeceased by his parents George and Ada Couling and brother Noel. He was deeply loved, cherished by many, and will be missed by his wife Danielle, sons Mitchell and Kyle (Candice), Ben, Kevin (Jasmine), grandchildren Cara (Derek), Joshua, Meghan, Jorja, Quade, Kiera and great-grandson Kacey. Gary was born and raised in Guelph, and studied at the GCVI. He went on to become a CA, starting his working career in Kitchener. He subsequently moved to Vancouver, BC, in 1967, and in the early 1970s began a thriving career in the forestry industry working with The Probyn Group, becoming a partner in the late 70s. He continued to work and lead in the industry that he was passionate about until his retirement in March of 2005. In addition to his love for his family and work, Gary was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed running, skiing, tennis and golf, and was an avid fan of the Vancouver Canucks. Gary and Danielle enjoyed traveling to Australia, Europe and on several cruises over the years. Many winters were also spent enjoying the sun in Palm Desert. He cherished his time with his family, and could always be counted on for a game of crib and celebrated winning or losing with a DQ Dilly Bar.
