At the age of 82, surrounded by family and loved ones, Rosie Evans passed away peacefully with grace and calm on July 20, 2023, at the Hospice Wellington in Guelph, Ontario. She is survived by her sons Jack (and Charmaine Napier) of Port Rowan, Ontario, Steve of Victoria, British Columbia, and John (and Tracey Henry) of Toronto, Ontario. Rosie was the youngest of fifteen children. She was predeceased by her parents Marie and Eugene Fraser and most of her siblings, except for Donna Fraser and Gene Fraser Sr. of Guelph, Ontario, and "the twins" Francis Hopperstad of Seattle, Washington, and Florence Aubertin of Detroit, Michigan. She lived her life independently and as she wanted to, right until the end. She was able to live on her own at her home until a week before her passing. Her younger self was an avid traveller with an adventurous soul, travelling to London, Ireland, Scotland, France, and other destinations. She had an extraordinary love of reading and all things related to the Toronto Blue Jays. While Rosie enjoyed much in life, nothing was more important to her than her family, all of her family, and especially those related to and connected with her Scottish roots and the Frasers of Guelph and Glengarry. She was a Fraser, first and foremost, and damn proud of it. A special thank you to the nurses, doctors, and staff at the Guelph General Hospital and the most amazing staff at the Hospice Wellington. The family would respectfully request, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the Hospice Wellington located at 795 Scottsdale Drive in Guelph, Ontario. Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, where the family invites relatives and friends for a visitation on Thursday, July 27, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place at Holy Rosary Church, 175 Emma St., Guelph, on Friday, July 28, 2023, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Marymount Catholic Cemetery, Guelph.
