It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Freda Ellen Reid on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, in her 93rd year. Beloved wife and best friend of the late John Kenneth Reid for 64 years. Loving mother of Ronald (Terry) Reid and David Reid. Proud grandmother of Bradley (Celena), Shannon (Joe), Kevin (Feyza), Amy (Gabe), and Melissa (Mervyn), and great-grandmother of Brady, Hayden, Jayda, Colton, Griffin, Tanya, Matthew, and Benjamin. Freda is pre-deceased by her parents Frederick and Agnes Shaw and her sister Elizabeth Gamble. Freda will be fondly remembered by all of her friends, neighbours, and extended family. A special thank you to the staff and residents at The Village of Riverside Glen for their friendship and loving care that was shown to our mother and our family over the past seven years. The family invites friends to a visitation on Friday, August 25, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home's Hart Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Stephen Mutavdzija officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home's Fellowship Lounge. Freda will be laid to rest next to her husband at Huxley Cemetery, 5982 Trafalgar Road, Hillsburgh, at 3:00 p.m. The funeral service for Freda will be live streamed for those who are unable to attend.
