With heavy hearts we ann-ounce the peaceful passing of Christiana on August 13, 2023 at St. Joseph's Health Centre at the age of 89. Survived by her loving husband Evert of 69 wonderful years. Proud mother to Gerry (Andrea) and Jim (Tracey). Devoted grand-mother to Emily, Laura (Eric), Nick (Laura), Mike (Emily), and Peter (Amy). Treasured great grandmother to Connor, Megan, Molly, Paisley, and Owen. Cherished sister to 12 siblings. Predeceased by her parents Jan and Cornelia. She will be missed by all her friends and extended family. She was a volunteer for many organizations including GMHA, Mothers Auxiliary, CWL, and the Canadian Cancer Society. She also loved knitting and needlepoint and donated her knitting many times to charities. Many thanks to the staff of the 4th and 2nd floors at St. Joseph's Health Centre who cared for her over the past few months. Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N, Guelph, where the family invited friends and relatives for a visitation on Wednesday, August 16, 2023. A Funeral Mass was held at the Basilica of Our Lady Immaculate, 28 Norfolk St, Guelph on Thursday, August 17, 2023. As expressions of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation.
