It is with deep sadness and broken hearts, that we announce the passing of James (Jim) Hobson. Jim passed away suddenly on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at his cottage in Sauble Beach at the age of 69. Loving, extremely proud and devoted father to Kelly (Jason) and Kristi (Robyn). Caring and fun "Big Papa" to Quinntyn, Eliza, Iszack, Madisyn and Grayson. Survived by his brother David Hobson (Judy) of Fergus and many nieces and nephews. Jim will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his Pet Valu staff over his 30 years in business. It has been said many times over and reiterated that he was "THE best boss". Jim's trademark was his huge smile, con-tagious chuckle and quirky sense of humour. Truly one of a kind, unforgettable and left an impression on anyone he met. A memorial service was held at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, on Monday, August 28th at 1:30 p.m. followed by reception. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Amputation Foundation, something that was near and dear to his heart. From his daughter Kelly - Dad...you were my BEST friend, my favorite phone call...my heart hurts missing you. I truly hope you are now without pain. I hope you are skiing, taking that Alaskan Cruise and watching the tennis open in Australia. I love you dad. A tree was planted in memory of James S. Hobson in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
