Mar 11, 1938 - Oct 2, 2023 It is with heavy hearts that we share that Joanne Lorraine Gortmaker (née Glidden) passed peacefully, on October 2, 2023, at the age of 85. Joanne was born on March 11, 1938, in Guelph, ON, to the late Laura Glidden (née Demars) and Melvin Glidden. Joanne was a loving and humorous individual who brought joy to those around her. She had a vibrant personality and was known for her warm-hearted nature. Joanne had a passion for genealogy and enjoyed exploring her family's history. Joanne had a successful career in commission sales and as an educator. She was always willing to share her knowledge and inspired many. Joanne is survived by her daughters Sandra and Tamara, her grandchildren Hanna and Haley, her son in law Giuseppe and sister Lillian. She will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Joanne was predeceased by her beloved husband of 39 years, Kars; sisters, Phyllis, Shirley, and Irene; and her son in law, Len. A Celebration of Life will be held on October 21st, 2023, for family and friends to honour Joanne's Memory. Joanne will be dearly missed by all those who knew her and loved her. Her legacy of love, humour, dedication, and spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
