Apr 6, 1942 - Nov 7, 2023 McGimsie, Durward (Derry) Allan passed away peacefully at his home in Toronto on November 7, 2023 at the age of 81. Predeceased by his parents, Douglas and Agnes McGimsie of Guelph. Beloved brother of Bruce (Diane) and John (Mary) Dear uncle of Shelley (Eric), Michael (Melissa), Christopher (Camille) and Danielle (Randall). Great uncle to Nikolas, Lucas, Keira, Beatrix and Marigold. Derry's love for the stage began at a very early age. His acting debut was at the old Guelph City Hall at the age of ten. His second love was magic, conducting magic shows at his parent's home. Neighbourhood kids would line up on the porch, anxiously awaiting to see one of his shows. Derry had a long stage and film career and continued to work making commercials well into his seventies. Derry will be remembered as a kind and gentle person. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
