Nov 7, 1931 - Nov 20, 2023 In Loving Memory of Bob It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Bob, just after celebrating his remarkable 92nd birthday on November 7. He was surrounded by the love of his family and peacefully transitioned from this life. Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife, Audrey (Rand), and his artist son, Robert (Rob). He is survived by his cherished sons, Bruce (Linda Bayne) and John (Gord Autterson), his adored grandchildren, Jeremy (Kathleen) and Cailey (Chris), and his treasured great-grandchildren, Braden and Addison. Bob's devotion to his family was unwavering, and his love for them was ever-present and deeply felt. Bob's legacy extended beyond his family through a fulfilling career that he was immensely proud of. Beginning as a carpenter in 1948, he pursued his education at Ryerson Institute of Technology until 1955, forging lifelong friendships and laying the groundwork for a diverse career path. His journey encompassed house design in Guelph, engineering roles at Armco Steel (Guelph, Mississauga, and Edmonton), and culminated in a position in general management at Ladish Company (Brantford). Remaining in Brantford through his retirement, Bob was celebrated for his contributions to The Rotary Club of Brantford and the Probus Club. He found immense joy in the camaraderie of his golfing and social communities, fostering enduring friendships. In his later years, Bob relocated to Ottawa and resided at the Maplewood Retirement Community. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the Maplewood staff, especially Dr. Ruth Farey, for their unwavering care and compassion towards Bob during his time there. In honor of Bob's memory, there will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests contributions to a charity of your choice. Bob's life was rich with love, dedication, and a commitment to both family and community, leaving an indelible mark on the lives he touched. Forever remembered, forever cherished, and dearly missed.
