Cllr Ashley Mallon and Cllr Martin Hearty – The BardA fundraising event in Keady has raised £2,000 in aid of humanitarian efforts in Gaza.
The Bard of Armagh solidarity evening, hosted at the Tommy Makem Arts and Community Centre on Friday night, was organised to show support for the Palestinian people.
She paid tribute to Cumann Chair Declan Thornton, Cathal Boylan MLA, the Tommy Makem Centre for hosting, as well as the Hughes musicians and Pat McGinn, who opened the evening.
Special recognition was also given to Cllr Martin Hearty, who performed as the ‘Bard of Armagh’.
Cllr Mallon said Sinn Féin would continue to stand “in full solidarity with the Palestinian people in their struggle for freedom, dignity, and justice.”“From Armagh to Gaza — Palestine will never stand alone,” he added.
