AFL premiership player Heath Shaw has shared a left-field solution to solving the Brownlow Medal’s voting headache after Matt Rowell ran away with the award on Monday night.
The Gold Coast midfielder polled 39 votes, the second-most in history behind last year’s winner Patrick Cripps (45).
Rowell’s monster haul was helped along by several games where he picked up three votes despite not being expected to poll at all.
The first three games he ever played, he got three Brownlow votes, so he’s definitely someone who can poll pretty well,” Shaw tells 7NEWS.com.au.
