Locals in a popular tourist town have hit out at the decision to replenish their rapidly eroding coastline with sand from a nearby beach. The plan is to shift 7000 cubic metres of sand from further up Lancelin Beach to the vulnerable point, to buffer the tide that has eaten away at more than 30 metres of picturesque coast. Time is running out for the Lancelin Sands Hotel, with waves now almost at its doorstep. This is the Lancelin Sands Hotel just a few years ago.
