It’s Gen Z’s most popular drink but it seems one German café is saying auf wiedersehen to matcha. German barista Dritan Alsela has put a sign in his café which reads: “Matcha drinkers not permitted. Matcha drinks have become popular with Gen Z, who reportedly prefer its more subtle effects over caffeine. A German cafe has banned matcha drinks, telling customers to ‘respect’ coffee beans. If they want to do that (ban matcha over coffee), go for it.”Rose added: “I would rather set myself on fire than try (matcha).
