"Big difference for this year versus years past is, it's just so widespread. "It's not getting the attention it should get with the importance of the honey bee," said Lennon. "You may see more people get out of the industry and have less colonies available for pollination. "If we can distribute these stocks to bee keepers in East Texas, they can produce the queens and overall we can have better queens and better genetics across the US," said Slater. "I feel more and more optimistic every day, actually, because of the new products that are coming out," said LennonBoth Lennon and Slater urge people to limit pesticide use if possible, but also plant pollinator friendly plants.Both can help the bee populations.
