Safe? Not anymore, there are currently (May 2025) guys in ski masks (claiming to have been contracted by the navy), boarding and seizing vessels they deem 'abandoned or unkept' (even when they blatantly are not!) and demanding either you pay to haul out, leave, or have your boat taken and destroyed. They is no due process, no notification, and not appeal. It's a shake down and so far over twenty boats tagged for destruction. DO NOT BRING YOUR BOAT TO LUPERON!!
