Frankie Lucena's video shows what NASA classifies as a rare kind of "Transient Luminous Event," or TLE — a "gigantic jet."
"Gigantic jets are powerful electrical discharges that erupt from the top of a thunderstorm and travel upward into the upper atmosphere," NASA says.
