There was a similar event in Utah just a week ago on I80. We see this happen on I5 in California about one every 2 years. Every drives too fast. I'm as guilty as anyone of driving to fast in snowy or foggy conditions. There are actually studies that show that people are unable to judge how fast they are going in reduced visibility situations.
