In one video we see a man on his cell phone. I wonder if he was calling friends, "You gotta come see this", or if he was actually calling 9-1-1. As for being "disposable" buildings, look what these fires have done for the economy: Contractors get to rebuild; motels get to house residents; restaurants get to feed them; stores get to sell them new furnishings; car dealers get to sell new vehicles...and it's most likely almost totally paid for by insurance. This event is devastating to the residents, but is a boon to the local economy. A few people lose, lots more people gain.
