My recent album "Tony Marino - Friday Night" has a song dedicated to Carl. Here is my story. When I was 11 years old I bought a single ticket to see Leon Russell perform at the Philadelphia Spectrum. I arrived a few hours before the show started so that I could get as close to the stage as possible. I was able to find a spot up front right near the piano. While I was waiting for the show to start, Carl Radle (Leon’s Bassist) walked on stage. When I saw him I yelled “HEY CARL”, he looked over at me I waved, he waved back and left the stage. About two hours later the show started. When Carl walked on stage, he looked over at me, waved and smiled. I was so happy, he made my day. This song is dedicated to the memory of Carl Dean Radle. RIP Carl.
