Mal Lanyon has been announced as the new police commissioner of NSW. The Deputy Commissioner will be replacing Karen Webb, who announced her retirement in May after a three-year stint. Lanyon has been with the force for 38 years, having led multiple operations including the state’s COVID response and the Northern Rivers flood recovery.
