The bright fireball in this video was recorded on August 17, at 4:54 local time (equivalent to 2:54 universal time). The event was generated by a rock (a meteoroid) from Comet C/1911 N1 (Kiess) that hit the atmosphere at about 239,000 km/h. The fireball overflew Granada and Málaga (Spain). The event has been analyzed by the principal investigator of the SMART project: Dr. Jose M. Madiedo, from the Institute of Astrophysics of Andalusia (IAA-CSIC). Its code in the SWEMN database is: SWEMN20250817_025457.
