Tags: Collections, Visual Stories, Marx Library April 25, 2024The Yale Library Shelving Facility (LSF), located just 3 miles from Sterling Memorial Library, safety stores and delivers—on demand—the 8.5 million books and other materials it houses to locations across campus. LSF opened in 1998, and in the 25 years since, it has grown to support major library renovations that made possible new academic programs, new approaches to teaching and learning, and campus expansions to educate a greater number of students. Today, thanks to the service and space LSF provides, Yale Library is able to offer more small-group collaboration spaces, in-library classrooms, opportunities to teach with special collections and technology, and support for data-intensive research.
