Jan 1, 1951 - Nov 8, 2024 James Paul Rodgers Our beloved "Paul," passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 8, 2024, at the age of 73. Born in Dibble, OK, on March 31, 1951, to Bert and Mary L. (Childress) Rodgers in Dibble, OK, Paul attended Amber then Chickasha High School until enlisting into the United States Army in 1971. After returning home to Chickasha, OK he went to work at Pet Milk then advanced to a foreman position at Farmland Coop for 30 years before finally finishing his working career and retired from Livestock Nutrition Coop in Chickasha. Paul's life was marked by his kindness, resourcefulness, and generosity, touching the lives of all who knew him. An avid outdoorsman Paul found joy in hunting, fishing, boating, and motorcycle riding; a passion he shared with his beloved wife and kids. In their younger years, Paul and his wife Denise took many trips in the south, because going North of Oklahoma was too cold! They enjoyed their years of retirement together continuing to travel locally in the Oklahoma and Texas regions. When they were at home, they indulged in many games such as dominos, wahoo, and many different card games. If the weather permitted, they enjoyed spending hours outside with their multitude of animals over the years. Paul is proceeded in death by both parents, brothers- Wayne Rodgers of Chickasha, OK and Webb Rodgers of Chickasha, OK, sisters- Bonnie Fagan of California, Bertha Perske of Chickasha, OK and Martha Hunt of Chickasha, OK, grandsons- Dakota Doucet and Tory Lacy and numerous nieces and nephews. Paul is survived by his lovely wife of 34 years, Denise of Amber, OK Sisters-Mary McCabe of Moore, OK and Ruth Adkins of Oklahoma City, Ok , Son-Curtis and wife Kelly Rodgers of Tuttle, OK, Son-James and wife Leona Rodgers of Chickasha, OK, Daughter- Charlene and husband Darrel Wyatt of Chickasha, OK and Son-BJ Finch of Oklahoma City, OK, Grandchildren-Jimmy Eva, Lillie, Braelyn, Ashlee, and Great-Grandchildren Abagail, Victory, Heyley, TJ and the soon-expected Magnolia, and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, at the Amber Community Center, 404 Holly Ave, Amber, OK 73004 Contact family members for information on sending flowers or donations.
