Surrounded by love, Helen Loreigh Wilkerson peacefully passed into her heavenly home April 12th, 2025, where she was joyfully reunited with her parents, Raymond and Marjorie Collier, and her brother, Robert. Born on March 1, 1939, in Seminole, Oklahoma, the family moved to North Dakota where she graduated from Tioga High School in 1957 and went on to earn her degree from Minot State Teachers College. A passionate educator, she spent the majority of her career teaching in Oklahoma including Ninnekah, Chickasha, and Bridge Creek. She also taught in Georgia, Montana, and North Dakota. She poured her heart into her students and classrooms. She was a long-time member of Trinity Baptist Church in Chickasha, Oklahoma and after moving to Oklahoma City, became an active member of Cherokee Hills Baptist Church. A devoted follower of Christ, she lived as a humble servant and a friend to all. Whether she was teaching Sunday school, sharing scripture, or simply showing up with love, she never missed an opportunity to reflect God's grace. Her life was full of faith, family and friends. She loved going to her grand kids sporting events and school activities, playing cards with "the girls," and watching her favorite shows on the Game Show Network. She was never without a devotional or Bible study book close by, and her home was filled with angels, crosses, and touches of her favorite color—purple. She is survived by her son, Skip Wilkerson and his wife, Linda; grandsons Justin and Derek Wilkerson, his wife Danielle, and great-grandchildren Blaikyn, Gunner, Kinsley, and Judah Wilkerson, expected in July. She is also survived by her daughter, Karen Beam and her husband, Greg; granddaughters Madison and Sydney Beam, and great-grandson Liam George. Her gentle spirit, unshakeable faith, and deep love for her family will be dearly missed and forever cherished. The family wishes to thank the staff at Tealridge Retirement Community, Integris Baptist, and the Integris Hospice House for their exceptional care and compassion. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 18th at Cherokee Hills Baptist Church, 5700 NW 63rd St, Oklahoma City, OK 73132.
