My great aunt worked and lived there. She was an operator. She also acquired the scraps of the "old" carpet from the lobby when my dad was finishing our basement in the 70s, so you guessed it, it's in our basement and only recently is it showing wear and tear. . ..they just don't make things like they used too!!!!! I'm going to hate to see it go! (BTW, we also had 3 stools and a counter donated from the old Woolworths on 4th street and drawers from the old sears and robucts and 2 owls that was atop some old buildings from that era as well...so dad brought as much of "old" 4th street home as he could when it was revamped in the 70-80s lol)
