Billy Lacy, of Jacksonville, passed away February 1, 2025 at the age of 91.
A visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville with a graveside service to follow at Jarratt Cemetery at 2 p.m. Bro. Dale Harris and Bro. Jon Nesbitt will officiate.
Billy spent most of his life in Turney area where he and his wife loved to garden and share their crops. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church for many years. Whether it was bird watching or catching fishing, Billy would often be found enjoying the outdoors. Mr. Lacy had many hobbies but one of his favorites was reading anything from author Louis L'Amour. If you were willing, he was ready to teach anyone to play King on the Corner. Billy will always be remembered for his gentle enthusiasm and genuine friendship to all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Randolph and Minette Lacy; wife, Annie Lacy; sister, Virginia Myers; brothers, Raymond and Calvin Lacy and daughter, Louella McIntyre.
Billy is survived by his children: Linda Kay Ramsey and husband Joe of Jacksonville, Lyniece Ann Nesbitt and husband Jon of Sulphur Springs, Julia Ann Herrera of Tomball, Jimmy Dean Weatherly of Jacksonville and Stephan Michael Weatherly of Houston. His grandchildren who are left behind to cherish his memory are Richard Brooks, Michael Brooks and wife Meagan, Amber LaFavers and husband Garrett, Rebecca Kincade and husband Chris, David Herrera and wife Misti, Julie Clements and husband Chris. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Billy's family would like to thank the folks of Meals on Wheels, Enhabit Home Health and Hopice, and his church family for all their kind words and loving care.
