Frank Edward Waites, 84, passed away on March 28, 2025, in Jacksonville, Texas. A lifelong resident of Jacksonville, Frank was born here on January 5, 1941 and was a member of Afton Grove Baptist Church. Frank proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1963 to 1965, stationed in Germany where he served as a Military Police officer. His time in the service reflected his strong sense of duty and discipline—qualities that would remain with him throughout his life. Following his military service, Frank returned home, married Sandra, and built long and dedicated careers. He worked for TXU for over 30 years. After retiring from there he started a new career in maintenance for New Summerfield Independent School District, where his reliability and work ethic left a lasting impression. Frank also brought his talents to the Tri-County Sale Barn kitchen, where he cooked with skill and heart. Beyond his professional roles, he was well known for catering and smoking meats for friends and family—a labor of love that brought people together around good food and warm company. Frank's passions extended beyond family and work. He was honored for 50+ years of service by both the Masonic Lodge and Shriners. He found joy in cooking, hunting, fishing, and gardening. These hobbies were not just pastimes but reflections of a life lived close to nature and rooted in tradition. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Sandra Waites; his parents Frank T. and Mozelle Waites; his sister Wanda and husband Ray Patton; his brother Ernest "Dude" Waites; his sister Glenna Nichols; and his niece Cori Casper. Frank leaves behind cherished family members who will carry forward his memory: sister-in-law Sue Waites; nieces Dianna (Glenn) Smith, Julie (Dean) Harvey, Janna (Todd) Chancey, and Marcell (Mark) Wilson; along with many great-nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at First Methodist Church (1031 SE Loop 456) in Jacksonville, on Sunday, April 6. Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00, with the service immediately following at 3:00. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Heart to Heart Hospice. May the memory of Frank Edward Waites bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as a reminder of a life marked by service, hard work, and heartfelt generosity.
