'Dangerous' branch removed after safety fears raised
['Helen Attwood']
Hereford Times | News
Hereford dad Ivan Ivanou said the branch had been hanging off the tree in Bakers Lane, which is near Trinity Primary School and The Range car park, for three weeks, despite him reporting it multiple times to Herefordshire Council and also to The Range.
"With the weather this tree needs to be cut immediately to prevent anyone from getting hurt," Mr Ivanou said.
"The branch is very heavy and quite long and at some point it's going to to snap off completely and could really hurt someone.
A Herefordshire Council spokesperson confirmed the tree was reported on September 8, and visited by the locality steward the next day.
The feedback from that inspection was that the tree is on private land, overhangs a private path, signs had been put out by the landowner, and there there was "no immediate safety impact that required BBLP [Balfour Beatty Living Places] to intervene on private land with a private tree", they added.
