The fire is currently spot-sized and believed to have been sparked by lightningA wildfire has ignited near Monashee Provincial Park Tuesday. Located north of Sugar Lake, 55 kilometres east of Enderby near the Shuswap River, the fire was discovered Sept. 23 and is currently spot-sized. It is burning out of control, meaning it is expected to spread beyond its current perimeter. The fire is believed to have been caused by lightning, according to BC Wildfire Service. There are currently no evacuations or area restrictions associated with this fire.
