Vazquez, 35, missed the last 43 games with a left shoulder infection. He played four rehab games at Triple-A St. Paul, going 2-for-15 with a home run, four RBIs and three walks. The two-time World Series winner is a career .249 hitter in 989 games with the Boston Red Sox, Houston Astros and Twins. To make room on the roster, the Twins optioned infielder DaShawn Keirsey Jr. to St. Paul.
