By BOB MARTINEagle Times StaffClaremont Police have a suspect in custody who allegedly opened fire at a pickup truck in a Glidden Street parking lot where there were multiple bystanders, as well as customers in nearby businesses. Responding officers found that a man, later identified as Torres, fired “multiple rounds” at a vehicle that pulled into a business parking lot on Glidden Street. Claremont Police officers quickly located Torres at a local residence and took him into custody. Torres was allegedly involved in a fight with multiple people outside a subsidized housing complex located at 33 Whipple Road in Newport. Court records show that during the fight a juvenile fired six shots, and Torres allegedly hit him with a glass bottle.
