Jane Francis, 52, of Wricklemarsh Road, was found guilty of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal following a trial. Magistrates noted: “You caused prolonged suffering which should have been obvious to you and ultimately the dog died.”Last Friday, September 12, Francis appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court for sentencing. She was given a six-month prison sentence which was suspended for 18 months. Francis was also told to pay £2,000 towards the RSPCA’s prosecution costa and a £154 surcharge. An order was made banning Francis from keeping any pets for a period of 10 years.
