OWENSBORO – The mountain was simply too high to climb for Lawrence County. The Bulldogs trailed by 17 points in the first half to Bourbon County and closed to within seven late in the second half before falling, 68-56, in the Kentucky 2A boys’ state tournament game played at the Owensboro Sports Center on Thursday. Tyler Maynard led the Bulldogs, now 10-8, with 22 points while Cody Maynard added 15. Trenton Adkins finished with 10 points and 18 rebounds, a record for the second-year tournament.
