PIKEVILLE – University of Pikeville took a 6-5 decision over Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) University on Saturday to earn a doubleheader split with the Cougars at Johnnie LeMaster Field. Tyler Menrath delivered a two-run double in the bottom of the eighth inning to score Royce Brittentime and Pastor Sanchez with the tying and go-ahead runs as the Bears moved to 5-9. Sanchez had tripled and single while Kase Mattingly singled in one run and scored. Jorden Davey was the winning pitcher in relief. Kevin Justice worked a scoreless seventh.
