Earlier this month, Tehran and the IAEA reached an agreement that would have allowed the organization to resume inspections of Iranian nuclear facilities. On August 28, Britain, France, and Germany triggered the JCPOA's 30-day "snapback" mechanism, designed to reimpose sanctions frozen under the accord.
