The Global Initiative Against Impunity (GIAI)*, including FIDH, the CICC, REDRESS, TRIAL and WIGJ, condemns the announced withdrawals of Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger from the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC). This move marks a serious retreat from accountability and undermines decades of African leadership in the global fight against impunity.
