‘Net profitable’: Woman bypasses food delivery fees on Swiggy and Zomato through clever hack
[]
Mathrubhumi English
A woman has revealed a hack she devised for ordering food from the comfort of her home while avoiding the steep delivery charges imposed by India’s two largest food delivery platforms, Swiggy and Zomato.
Rather than using the Swiggy or Zomato apps, she now calls her favourite restaurants directly and asks them to pack her order.
She then arranges for the food to be collected via a third-party delivery service such as Rapido or Uber Courier, effectively sidestepping the numerous fees charged by the food delivery giants.
These include, but are not limited to, delivery charges, platform fees, GST, small order surcharges, long-distance delivery fees, and even rain surcharges.
Another user remarked on the time-consuming process of making the calls to order food and for Rapido pickup.
