APRIL 8, 1927 – JANUARY 19, 2019Born in Oswego, Kansas on April 8, 1927, Carl C. Landis was the eighth of Willard and Inez Landis’ ten children. He graduated from Oswego High School in 1944 and went on to Kansas State Teachers College, now known as Pittsburgh State University. He was offered a position teaching math and physics at the newly integrated Soldan High School where he worked for 8 years. He then accepted the position of principal at Northwest High School where he stayed until it closed. He is survived by his daughters, Carla Evans and Sherri Walker (Anthony); three granddaughters, Sally Evans, Laura Evans, and Darcie Walker; two grandsons, Anthony and Carl Walker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loved ones.
