The borough council’s planning committee previously voted to allow Anchor Homes’ redevelopment of the Kytes Drive estate, Garston, which would see 56 bungalows knocked down for 63 houses and a 71-apartment retirement home. Following that decision in March, 26 more public objections came in and the plan has now been placed on a committee meeting's agenda next Tuesday (September 30). It comes amid questions over the initial decision’s legality in terms of listed buildings and equalities legislation. It also detailed how it will make sure residents' needs are met by the new properties, how it would limit disruption by moving residents on a phased basis to avoid temporary housing, and addressed several other “planning and procedural matters”.
