Shane Barker: Appeal decision for, Cedric and Noelene Jordan, who killed former son-in-law in Tasmania
['Ethan James']
The Nightly
Cedric Harper Jordan and Noelene June Jordan, both in their 70s, were jailed for 22 years in 2023 over the death of Shane Barker in 2009.
Mr Barker was shot four times in the driveway of his house at Campbell Town in central Tasmania after returning home from dinner with his parents.
They had concerns Mr Barker, 36, was abusive towards their granddaughter.
Ms McCracken said the unregistered gun may have then changed hands and was used by a “third party” to kill Mr Barker.
Crown prosecutor Daryl Coates told the hearing it was fanciful to suggest somebody else killed Mr Barker.
