Mr Ebenezer Kakrah Hammah, the Chief Executive Officer, McHammah Engineering, has called for the establishment of a body to streamline the operations of commercial vehicles or ‘trotro’ seats manufacturers in the country. He said in designing trotro seats; manufacturers must always give priority to the human body comfort. He cited instances where some ‘trotro’ seats, were terribly designed, such that whenever one sat in them, his knee caps virtually kick against the metals of the next seat, which was very disturbing. He noted that having a body to regulate the activities of automobile seats manufacturers, especially the way side artisans, would bring sanity into the system and comfort to commuters. He said in order to empower technical education students; their course outline should be 70 per cent practical and 30 per cent theoretical.
