A new metro line is being constructed in Toulouse to serve and connect economic centres and futureproof the transport network’s capacity to meet the needs of its ever-growing population. Tisséo is extending Line B by 2.6km eastwards to intercept the new Metro Line C, which is the biggest project of the mobility plan. At 27km, the new line’s length is almost equal to Line A and Line B combined – 16km and 12km respectively. Metro Line C will stretch from Colomiers station in the North West to Labège station in the South East, with 21 metro stations along its route. Everything changed when the current mayor of Toulouse Jean-Luc Moudenc was first elected in 2014, strongly advocating for the creation of a new metro line.
