Hanwha Group has named Alex Wong, former U.S. principal deputy national security adviser, as its global chief strategy officer to lead international strategic initiatives. The newly created role, based in Washington, D.C., will focus on strengthening partnerships, expanding defense capabilities and advancing re-industrialization efforts in the United States and Europe, Hanwha Defense USA said Monday. “Hanwha is a vital company at such a pivotal time for the global defense and shipbuilding industries,” Wong said. In the United States, the company is contributing to shipbuilding revitalization while delivering advanced land defense systems. In Europe, Hanwha is positioned to support rearmament efforts through new capabilities, industrial partnerships and strengthened defense supply chains.
