SALINAS, Calif. (KION-TV) – It’s been one week since the leaked draft opinion came out of the Supreme Court. On Tuesday, the Monterey County Board of Supervisors read and adopted a resolution that will declare the County a Champion of Reproductive rights. The resolution was placed on the agenda by Supervisor Wendy Root Askew and Supervisor Mary L. Adams in response to the leaking of Supreme Court documents. After the leaked documents from the Supreme Court suggested that the landmark case Roe v. Wade could be overturned. “We know that healthcare includes reproductive healthcare and reproductive healthcare includes access to abortion care,” said Supervisor Wendy Root Askew of District Four.
